Do you have a mission in life? Or do you feel a bit unfocused about your future? Do you ever think you have a mission to achieve greatness, excellence or something special? It could spring from a passion, a deep sense of purpose or endeavor. A mission Statement can focus personal, group or business goals or activities. Are you focused on succeeding in your Mission? If not, why not? Perhaps you haven’t written a Mission Statement before?

What is it?

A Mission Statement is focused on your purpose and passion. It includes ways you plan to enact your Vision Statement (see my previous post, “Your vision Your Future”), and it often includes your core values, cultural norms and who your Mission will help. Like a Vision Statement, a Mission Statement can outline the actions and direction of a person, business, or group.

Personal Statements

A personal Mission Statement can cover a wide range of health or life areas, such as:

  • Better health
  • More fitness/strength
  • Weight loss
  • Less pain/medications
  • Anti-aging
  • Better relationships
  • Improved work/life balance
  • Less stress
  • More organized
  • Better mood/self-esteem

A Mission Statement is a powerful tool for anyone who wants to focus their energy and actions on reaching meaningful goals with more prosperity and success. Yes, a few words can help to create a better future!

Business Statements

As with personal statements, a Mission Statement for businesses or companies offers a clearer focus and important guidance for a range of business activities:

  • Small business/solopreneur
  • Large companies
  • Products/manufacturing
  • Distribution
  • Retail/wholesale
  • Services
  • Technology
  • Professions
  • Marketing/writing

Group Statements

A mission statement is also a must for all kinds of groups and organizations, including:

  • Non-profit
  • For profit
  • Professional
  • Volunteer
  • Social
  • Online
  • Hobbies
  • Passions
  • Religious

Some key questions to answer:

1. What is the main purpose or reason for your personal, business or group activity?

2. What core values will you include (passion, integrity, caring, fast response, commitment, personal relationship/service, etc.)?

3. Who needs your help, support or services the most (market demographics, customer/client profile, etc.)?

Some examples

My initial Mission Statement for the biz coaching is:

My mission is to help each small business client find their passion, boost their income, and grow their business through a unique relationship of support, encouragement, creativity and results. Let’s uncover the greatness in you!”

My Mission Statement for my health coaching is:

“Using a holistic health and wellness approach, my mission is to help each client prevent disease and reach optimum health and longevity. Each client is a unique individual and I will support and encourage them on their path to reaching vibrant health and genuine vitality!”

Here is Stephen Covey’s Mission Statement:

“To inspire, lift and provide tools for change and growth of individuals and organizations throughout the world to significantly increase their performance capability in order to achieve worthwhile purposes through understanding and living principle-centered leadership.”

(See links below for more Mission Statement examples.)

What I’m saying in this post is that the statements I’ve outlined in recent posts (Vision, Unique Brand Offer/UBO and now Mission) will help to inspire and organize your life and future. They will help you clarify your vision and set the goals important to you. They are very important keys to success in all areas of your life, health, success and prosperity!

If you haven’t experienced the power and transformation of coaching, I’m offering a special 2 for 1 deal. I’ll give you 2 sessions for only $29.00 so you can see how amazing and fun coaching can be. In just 2 calls, you can enjoy big changes and improvements in your life, health or business can occur, and all of my clients have had great results! Plus, I guarantee results and improvement for whatever issues you have!
